Hello! Welcome to my teacher page. I have enjoyed working in the Bushland area since 2009. My family and I moved here in 2008 where I was a room mom for my youngest daughter’s Kindergarten class. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the students and helping out the teachers that I was hired for a Paraprofessional position the next year. In the Kindergarten dept I had the opportunity to work with all 5 of the teachers and loved the feeling of helping little minds grow. I immediately enrolled into Amarillo College to pursue my degree in teaching. I left in 2012 to complete my education full time and upon graduation I was given the opportunity once again to teach 5th grade Reading at Bushland Middle School. I currently am teaching 7th grade Technology Applications and 8th grade Journalism/Yearbook at Bushland Jr. High. Although working with the littles was a great experience, I do love working with the Jr. High level as we challenge each other to be successful.
I have been married for 23 wonderful years. We have two girls (Nicole and Katelyn) who have graduated from BHS in 2020 and 2021. I have a daughter (Megan) from a previous marriage who lives in Borger, Tx and is married and has 3 beautiful children (Lyric, Harper, and Aaron). Our younger girls attend college, one in Fort Worth, Tx and the other in Abliene, Tx. We currently have one puppy (Pepper) and my daughter has a guinea pig (Sammy).
I guess one of the reasons I was asked to teach Journalism was my love for scrapbooking. Taking photos and decorating pages in scrapbooks is the best way to hold precious memories. I also enjoy going to the mountains and lake with my family, hanging out with my grandchildren, and a little painting on the side.
